Kurt Busiek

Astro City was Kurt Busiek's follow up to Marvels. I'm only a couple decades late to the party but I have to say this is a good beginning. While tales featuring The Samaritan, Astro City's Superman analogue, bookend the tale, it's more about the non-superpowered denizens of Astro City. Astro City is a comic book series (or, more accurately, sequence of mini-series and ongoings) written by Kurt Busiek and first published in 1995. It was originally published by Image, then moved to Homage/Wildstorm, staying with Wildstorm when it was bought by DC.

17/3/2015 · Another good Astro City story this time focusing on Astro City's version of Wonder Woman. Since she's not really Wonder Woman, she can be a much more outspoken feminist icon than the original. While that normally wouldn't be of much interest to me, Busiek forms her into a well rounded and sympathetic character. 15/4/2014 · "Astro City reminds readers just how much fun Busiek and Anderson's series can be. It was absolutely worth the wait."—CBR "I don't often realize how much I miss "Astro City" when it's gone until it comes back and sweeps me up again."—MTV GEEK
